Reflections of an Evil Eye

I am you only different,

I am the face that you hide,

The one who really knows what you are thinking

I am the truth that you suppress.

I am every half truth and lie you have ever muttered

Jealousy given your form

Hidden to everyone else behind this veneer of glass

Only you can see me and know me for what I really am.

I am the plotter, the schemer, hatred bubbling under the surface.

I am the darkness that coats your soul

the one that screams at you in the back of your brain.

I am the sneer behind the smile

The mocking laugh, the shake of the head

The face that only you see yourself,

I am you, the true you that swims beneath the surface,

Whilst you do your best to stay in the light.

I live and thrive in the shadow waiting to be released.

I am you only different.
