Animus
I couldn't get away from you
not even if I tried-
But I wouldn't.
Your pale, tempting aura-
I long for that
like I long for
my shadow.
I don't pretend to understand
my desires
like the essence on a monster
that chases me down forbidden alleyways -
(crashing down the walls I erected so long ago, to keep you out)
to places I never wanted to be.
I thought I was stronger than this
Stronger than you?
(God never knew)
yet still I hunger
still my mind is entranced by your feral dance
my pretentions forgotten.
Take me in-
Maybe I'll understand
when our lips touch...
