A friend is
Someone who shares your woes and pains
Yet...
A traitor is also
A friend of yours
Or so you thought
Until a million arrows pierce through you
And when you look up from the ground
You see his face... smiling
Smiling down unto you

A friend is
Someone who guards your back
Yet...
A backstabber is also
A friend of yours
Or so you thought
Until a dagger penetrates your back
And as the ground spirals to meet your face
You hear your friend near...laughing
Laughing because the knife was his

A friend is
Someone who keeps shared secrets
Yet...
A hypocrite is also
A friend of yours
Or so you thought
Until the day you enter a room
And a dozen enemies crowd around you
Your friend is in the lead...smirking
Smirking for the secrets she has spilled

A friend is your friend
Until the day he finds a way
To swap it for treasures better unto him
So beware of those who says almost too easily
"I am your friend."
