This is my first piece of work for the Shady Crew. Hopefully all you peeps out there will think it's a good one. And without further ado I give you Donny's Demons.

In the darkness of the small room the young Donny Moore laid on the comfortable leather couch, lazily watching television. With his head propped up against the arm of the furniture, he popped another chip into his mouth and crunched down loudly. A scream emitted from the television but didn't cause any reaction whatsoever from the eleven year old boy. It was just another shoddy horror film with the same old plot and the same old characters running like idiots through the woods and tripping every few feet. After he yawned slightly he laughed to himself about how only a few years ago he would have been scared senseless from this type of stuff.

Yeah Donny Moore was fairly an ordinary kid. He had quite a few friends, had fair grades in school, and played video games when he wasn't occupied with chores or hanging out with his friends. But until about three years back the ragged-haired boy had been plagued by a serious case of night terrors. Anything unexplainable or supernatural in nature would send him into uncontrollable shuddering and tears. His parents had tried several things to help him out when he was younger but the terror was just too much. In time they finally realized that he needed professional help and sent him to a psychiatrist. He had to visit weekly for nearly a year and kept a poster in his room that read, 'There's Nothing to Fear,' in his room, but the end result was a life without fear; exactly what he was looking for.

As the killer in the movie stalked yet another one of his random victims, Donny's mother called. "Donny dear, its starting to get a little late and I don't want you being late for school tomorrow. Now turn off the TV and get to bed.

Shoving another couple of chips in his mouth, Donny let out a muffled shout replying, "Okay mom." Just as the killer on the television caught up to the terrified girl the young boy shrugged and clicked off the TV. After detouring through the kitchen to toss his bag of chips back in the pantry, Donny headed up the stairs to his room. Dressing his red and white design pajamas and brushing his teeth, the happy youth turned off his main bedroom light and slid into his bed. Under the glow of his desk lamp he looked at the poster that eased him to sleep every night during that year of recovery. He didn't need it anymore considering it had been quite a while since he had had any fears about being alone in his room at night but it was still nice to have around to remind him of how silly he was to be afraid of such trivial and made up things. Smiling at it as his head sunk into his pillow, Donny switched off the small desk lamp and closed his eyes.

Nearly a half hour later the tired young boy rolled to his side and opened his eyes yawning. In the darkness he sat up and scratched his head a little before getting out of bed. Slowly he made his way into the hallway and then the bathroom to relieve himself from all the soda he had drank earlier. With his eyes half open and feet dragging over the floor, Donny lazily made it back to his room ready to tuck himself back in his cozy bed. As he pushed his door open a bit he noticed a strange light coming from inside.

Knowing he had not turned on any lights when he got up, he stepped in with a bit of confusion and wonder. At first it wasn't clear to him where the weird blue glow was coming from, but as he looked around further he noticed a bright outline surrounding his 'nothing to fear' poster. He stepped closer to it with a look of extreme puzzlement overcoming his face. With his head cocked to one side he lifted his left hand to the decoration and lightly pushed on it. His arm snapped back to his side when he felt his hand slowly sinking into the area where the wall should have been. Unsure of what was going on Donny looked around wondering if some kind of joke was being played on him. 'This can't be a joke,' the young boy thought, 'The only people here are my mom and dad and they wouldn't do something like this.' Swallowing slightly he moved closer to the poster once more and rose both his hands to the sides of it and prepared to check what the source of the light was.

Carefully he pulled the bottom of the thin paper from the wall and with a hint of fright peered under it. Under the poster was a blue vortex, almost beautiful in a way, spinning slowly with specks of white light flashing randomly over its surface. Donny stood there with amazement and gradually drew near it to see it with greater detail. Again he took his left hand and pushed it forward to test how safe the odd portal was. After only sticking two of his fingers in and then right back out to see them perfectly fine, Donny suddenly felt a bit more confident was ready for a bolder move. Smiling to himself, he moved his head closer to the swirling pool of energy and took in a deep breath. Closing his eyes, the young boy suddenly forced his entire head in and sucked in another breath before opening his eyes once more.

To his shock as he opened his eyes, little Donny found himself faced with a world of unimaginable fear. Pits of molten rock spotted the grounds and the sky was filled with terrible black clouds that spit out lightly nearly every other second. His hair nearly went white as a ghoul swept past him shrieking. In the distance tall monsters roared to life and trudged over the cracking black rock of the land. Closer to him two beasts fought trying to tear one another to shreds. In the portal Donny had went into a soundless stammer with his eyes so wide they took up most of his face. Observing one of the battling beasts sink his teeth into the other, Donny slowly withdrew his head having seen enough.

With the same look of utter shock and fright etched into his face, the terrified little boy back from under the poster and kept backing till he reached his bed. Stiffly lifting one leg and then the other to make it into bed, Donny turned on his side to the wall opposite the portal. Clutching his pillow close he said aloud to himself, "This is all a dream. I'll just wake up in the morning and nothing will be there." Not quite believing his own words Donny closed his eyes reluctantly and uneasily drifted back to sleep. In the eerie glow behind him however, a pale faced demon lifted the thin poster and peered over to the boy smiling. After the creature let out a low chuckle it sunk back down into the strange portal to head back to the odd land that lay beyond.

Well that's the first in hopefully what will be a good story to come. Comments are appreciated, thanks ^_^.
