‘Course, we never noticed her anyways.
“I saw her for the first time when it was announced
But Miss B said she had been in our class.”
It was reported to be a suicide.
“According to the charts she was in my row
But I always thought that was an empty desk.”
She ate lunch alone but nobody cared.
No one ever paid any mind.
Was she smart or dumb?
Was she nice or mean?
Who knows? Who cares?
“I didn’t know her anyways.”
Did anyone know her?
What were her thoughts? Her hopes? Her dreams?
Did anyone bother to ask?
“She’s gone now anyways, so who really cares?
It’s not like anyone’s going to miss her.”
“You’re right” they said, and life went on.
