Hiiii! ;; Hmm, I was experiencing writer's block, so I wrote this out to get rid of it! Err, yes, strange tactic, but it worked sorta, and I'll write the next part of this if you guys want me to. smilesmile.

Part One- Introductions

"Princess... Princess Arlia, will you please pay attention?!" the anguished voice of her teacher cried, awaking her from her daydream.
The aforementioned princess looked with annoyance at her Histories teacher, "I'm listening old man! Don't worry about it," she mumbled. She sat in her royal garb, dyed blue to match her eyes like blueberries, with a jeweled necklace to compliment her eyes, like wet roses in the dim light of dusk. Although she was of the 'tender' age of sixteen, she never failed to cause her mentors grief when she would run out to play with the village children, or escape into the large forest behind the castle, or even when she'd be found on the castle's highest watchtower. And now, after being found a few hours earlier in one of said places, a disgruntled Arlia now read her books while her teacher, a wisened raisin of a man, huffed, insulted.
"Old man?! Princess, I am your elder and teacher, and it would do you a great good to show some respect!" he wheezed angrily.
"Yeah, yeah..." she muttered under her breath.
"Yes, well," he continued, regaining his composure, "I will now leave you to finish chapter eight, and-"
"Chapter eight?! But that's four hundred more pages!"
"AND," he exclaimed, ignoring her, "I will expect you to know all about what your read by the time I question you about it tomorrow, do I make myself clear?"
Arlia sighed dejectedly, "Yes, sir."
The sound of the door to the large stone room slammed shut, and she paused a few moments, waiting until she could no longer hear the old man's footsteps before shutting the thick tome and walking to the small window, looking down upon the countryside and the rest of the castle. 'If they honestly think I'm just going to stay here studying until I marry, they'd have more luck asking Mab to be their scullery maid!' she thought to herself. Walking towards the door, she peeked her head out cautiously, finding it odd that there were no guards placed outside her door. 'Heh, he probably thought I'd have learned my lesson by now,' she snickered to herself, silently sneaking down the hallways until she bumped into one of the maids as she turned a corner.
The young girl, probably no older than ten, gasped as she saw who she'd run into, "P-p-p-princess Arlia! W-w-ww" she stammered helplessly.
Arlia shushed her quickly, anxiously looking around for any witnesses, "It's not important, just pretend you never saw me," she whispered hurriedly, smiling slightly as the girl nodded up at her. "Good girl," she patted the maid on the head and made her way to her secret exit.

Lifting a large portrait of her parents to enter the dim path behind it, Arlia hoped that nobody would have checked in on her before-
"SHE'S RUN AWAY AGAIN!" a guard's voice bellowed from where she'd made her escape.
"FIND HER!" another voice yelled, then, closer to where she was standing, "Young girl, have you seen the Princess?"
"Yes, she was just running in that direction," a familiar maid's voice chimed.
'That little brat!' she thought angrily before rusing down the hidden pathway, hoping her footsteps weren't heard as she descended down the stone steps. 'That's it, this time, I'm running away for good! I don't care what it takes! Besides, I'm just a pawn for maritial power and wealth to my parents, and it's not like they don't have enough daughters and sons already!' She thought to herself, not paying attention until she ran straight into somebody else who was on the same pathway.
"Ow! Hey, watch it!," an arrogant voice said before really looking at Arlia in surprise, "Arlia? What're you-"
"Shhhhhhh!," she hissed as her eyes adjusted to see the familiar form of her brother, "Darren! Don't tell ANYONE I went through here, okay?"
The flaxen haired boy looked down at her, though he wasn't that much taller, cobalt eyes glittering softly as he smirked, "You're running away again, aren't you," he accused knowingly.
She glowered back at him, "If you say anything-"
Darren laughed quietly, "I know, I know. Besides, I do owe you a favor for even showing me this exit, my silence will suffice I think."
"Yeah, but I only showed you because you and Katherine look so cute together," she murmured jokingly.
Darren flushed in the darkness at the mention of the Innkeeper's daughter, "Shhhhh!"
Arlia giggled before they nodded goodbyes, each going their separate directions. 'Okay, I'll miss a few of my siblings, but the ones I like know about the exit, maybe I'll be able to-' but her train of thought was broken as a loud noise sounded, sending the walls to shake around her. Confused, she ran down the steps, turning into another pathway that led her to a place near the courtyard. Thankful nobody saw her as she stepped out from behind a tapestry, she ran into the courtyard, looking about her.
A large fireball had taken out an entire wall to one of the upper rooms, causing frantic screeches and shouted orders from all around. pieces of stoney debris had fallen nearby, and a large shadow suddenly appearing around her caused Arlia to look up, seeing the cause of the chaos.
There was a medium sized dragon, about 200 years old and the size of a military catapault. Jade green scales blended into large, slowly flapping wings, and slit olive eyes gleamed as it hovered and looked at Arlia, the only one who had entered the courtyard, rather than run to the other side of the castle or rush to gather the soldiers. Her eyes widened slightly when the creature descended to land before her, and she realised that there was somebody riding it. He had plum-colored hair that fell in layers to his chin, and deep gray eyes that looked at the destruction in triumph. There was a kind of charm about him, a handsomeness that Arlia would have thought upon had he not just blown a large hole in the castle. He looked up at one of the soldiers who dared to look out at the wreck. "Hey you!" he shouted up at him, voice deep as he spoke, "This is a warning that I shall be taking over this land, and if the King and Queen are..unwilling," he smiled sweetly and looked to a surprised Arlia, "Then I shall steal away this Princess until they comply!"
The soldier gaped stupidly before running off in a rush, and Arlia's face heated as the man leaped off the dragon and started walking towards her, "Hey, waitaminute! What are you-" but by this time she'd been picked up by the taller man, bride style, and they were now going back towards the waiting dragon, "Hey, hold on here!" she beat against him, though it didn't really do much good, "Where are we-"
"Will you shut up? Honestly, you talk more than village gossips," he smirked down at her furious expression, "I, Cress, am kidnapping you, the Princess, so that I may take over this country without too much damages. Got it?"
Arlia frowned. 'Well I wanted to run away didn't I? Though this isn't really how I pictured it...' she looked at him as they jumped back onto the dragon, who slowly rose back into the sky. "I have a name you know, it's Arlia."
"Lovely," he said, not really listening.
"And thank you for kidnapping me," she said with a grin.
Cress blinked and looked down at her, "What?"
And it was like this that the strange pair flew off towards the mountains in the distance, leaving a very puzzled castle behind.
