This darkness isn't quite as thick
As stories would portray.
It's much too thin, to tell the truth,
Like the darker side of day.
I can't go out and swim in it,
I'm not blinded by the black,
No secrets are revieled to me
That daytime wouldn't lack.
No sneaky tendrils try to corrupt
The fear that's in my mind
And nobody's tried to jump at me
That daylight couldn't find.
I'm not convinced that nighttime is
As mysterious as it sounds
It's just as open as the day
Simply, with wider bounds.
