I stare at the sky up above,
And wonder for the millionth time
If someone's looking out for me,
Or if that job is soley mine.
I lay in bed and pray at night
To someone I'm not sure is there
I hope it's someone that exists,
And someone that will always care.
I sit among the many that
May also feel the way I do;
The many that may feel the fear
That settles deep inside of you.
The many that may feel the sadness
Lingering inside their souls.
The ones that feel the loneliness
That delves the deepest, darkest holes.
The many that I hope someday
Will feel relief to know that they
Are not alone as they once thought
And have the company they once sought.
I stare at the sky up above
And wonder just how many more
Others are doing that same thing
Wearing the doubt that I once wore.
I lay in bed and pray at night
And listen for someone's reply
Inside, knowing one won't come
But this time, I'm not worried why.
