Something Within

she dreamt of a narrow road;

she walked slowly, surely.

unaware of her followers,

silently watching her move

she trudged along

searching

searching for something

she does not know

they continued to watch

as if to help

she, not realizing,

their existence

she wakes up,

confused

though she has forgotten

it is there

never to disappear.
