A/N: it rhymes, uh, in places. Hope ya like it. I don't believe that
capricity is a word, is it?
Walking Backwards/Dark Hero
Strolling along the dusty road
Your shaggy hair unkempt,
Your capricious ways and ephemera
Have led you astray again.
With sheer luck in coming home
And love letters from yourself,
A pirate's patch over a perfect eye
And vain tears unwept;
That black fire burning in your soul
And the shadows in your face
Are causing me to doubt;
Sheer luck and masked greed
Have led you home again.
You did not come out of courtesy
Nor honesty, nor gratuity;
Your capricity and current ephemeron
Have chosen me this time.
You go wherever the wind blows, free to roam,
And you're bitterly, bitterly enigmatic.
You smile in your shadowed way
As you walk back to me again.
You've emerged back up from the ashes
To "save the day" again;
A perfect dark hero
Come to find his dusty love again.
You're the hero, you're the crook,
You're the roaming romantic,
You're a wandering musician
And a perfect enigmatic.
Doing what you feel like
And tangoing with any thrill,
You're completely free to roam the breeze
And pursue your vain desires.
Heartless, cold, unfeeling,
It's always about you.
But who can ever refuse
The hero's daring looks?
The hero's enigmatic life?
The hero's rakish smile?
