Keira got to the station and struggled as they put her into a cell. “I’m sorry Keira.” She listened to Jack talk but she turned her head the other way. She couldn’t stand to look at him. “Don’t I get a phone call?” she spat. “Yeah.” he replied.

Keira walked slowly down the hall with Jack’s eyes close behind. She picked up the phone quickly and dialed Free.

“Hello?”

“Free it’s me.”

“Keira what’s wrong?”

“Will’s hurt. There was so much blood. Jack arrested me. He said that unless he gets some evidence or Will tells him something, he had to arrest me.”

Keira could hear Free’s heavy sighing on the other end. “Free? Talk to me dammit!” She heard him sigh again. “Christ Keira. What do you want me to do?” She was surprised at the anger in his voice. “I want you to go see Will.” She heard him mumble a yes. “Free? You don’t believe me do you?”

Jack and Ray went to the hospital to check on Will. Ray was very reluctant to that. He wanted to stay back at the station and grill the hell out of Keira. “What’s the condition of Will Bauer?” Jack quickly asked one of the doctors. “He’s lost a lot of blood but he should make it.”

Jack talked to the doctor off to the side for a moment. “Can we go in and see him? Do you think he’ll be capable of answering questions?” The doctor looked reluctant at this but shook his head yes.

Jack looked at Will as he entered the door. It looked like the doctor’s had shot him up with a lot of drugs. He’d be lucky if he got anything out of him anyway. “Will, how are you?” Will tilted his glazed eyes towards Jack.

“How do you think I am?”

“Will did you get a good look at the person that did this to you?”

“It wasn’t Keira Jack.”

“How do you know?” Jack knew that he couldn’t tell Will that he had arrested Keira.

Will sighed and looked back at Jack again.

“It was a man.”

“Your not protecting Keira are you?”

“It wasn’t her! I know a man’s grip vs. a woman’s.”

“You were stabbed.”

“Yeah no shit! It doesn’t mean he didn’t try to choke me first.”

Jack sighed and rubbed at his temples. “Will I have to go to the station and do something.” Jack got up to walk out when Will shouted to him. “She didn’t do it. She’s the victim. Don’t do this just so you can get a promotion.”

Jack arrived at the station and told them to release Keira. As she walked past him she mumbled, “You will get yours Jack.” Keira walked out of the police station realizing that she didn’t have a car. She managed to get a cab and go over to the hospital.

Keira stayed at the hospital with Will for a few hours. She had gone over everything that had happened and he relayed what had happened with Jack. She had also learned that Free hadn’t stopped by. That was weird. When she walked out of that hospital room she never realized that that may have been the last time she’d ever see Will.

Keira got a cab over to Free’s house. When she knocked on the door no one answered so she stuck in her head. “Free?” She saw him come down the stairs. “Hey, I was just on my way to the hospital. What are you doing here?” Keira sighed and walked in the door.

“Jack let me go. Will told him it was a man. The way he described him sounded just like the man who attacked me. What am I going to do Free? That’s the second time I almost lost him. My life is falling apart. I’m scared to death of my own shadow.”

Free came over to her and sat down next to her. “Keira you know that day in the hospital when I swore to you I’d find the guy that did this?” She looked up at him. “Yes.” Free looked back. “Well I did. I found him.” Keira looked back up at him as a smirk spread across his face. “Hey sugar.”

“Free?” Keira stood up off the couch. “That’s right baby. It’s me.” he laughed. Suddenly her threw up his arm and punched her across the face. Keira held her face as she looked up at Free. “What? How?” she managed to say.

“What? How?” he said mocking her. “Why do you think Keira? All these years and you never noticed? The cards I used to end you, following you around all the time. Don’t you think you’d ever notice? NO! All you cared about was Will. No one ever noticed me. Instead I had to play monkey in the middle with you guys. ‘He did this, she did that’ so annoying Keira! I just wanted you to love me. But you married my best friend.”

He picked her up and held her against the wall with his hand against her throat. “You did all this because you love me? Did you think this was how you were going to earn my love?” Free flung her across the room and she crashed into the table. “Shut up bitch! You’re going to listen to me. I just wanted you to love me. Not screw my best friend. Is that too much to ask!?” he screamed.

“Free please stop.” she whispered. He picked her up off the floor and started to choke her. “You will pay.” As she clawed at his hands gasping for air she kicked him. He let go of her and she crashed to the floor. She had to think fast or she was going to die.

“Hey Free! You remember when I said if I ever found the man who did this I’d kill him?” Free looked over at her and smirked. “Yeah.” Keira pulled the gun out of her pocket and pointed it at him. “Good.” she said as she fired shot after shot after shot. Free fell to the floor. In his last breath he closed his eyes.

Keira started to cry. She looked at Free and ran for the phone. Quickly she dialed Jack. “Come to Free’s house now!” was all she said. Moments later police cars pulled into the driveway. Jack walked in and gasped when he saw Free. “Keira what happened?” Keira handed him the gun. “It’s all over.” was all she said as she walked out the door.
