Angels
By: Cheyenne Taylor Age:12 Issued: July 7, 2003

Running in circles
Chasing dreams that never come true
Lies and mischief
They drown the world
What have we all evolved to be
Nobody told us
That things had changed so much
I was just guessing
About our whole world
Will I make a difference
Not everyone can survive
But we know that for every handful of
Cold hearted people we meet
There's going to be
An angel
Everyone looks past the weak
Nobody stares through the windows
Of the places that used to be so beautiful
We never take a moment
To consider the fields of lilacs
Or that we have children
Work doesn't count for everything
Too many tears have fallen
Too many people have no chance
To be rescued now
Nobody told us
That things had changed so much
I was just guessing
About our whole world
Will I make a difference
Not everyone can survive
But we know that for every handful of
Cold hearted people we meet
There's going to be
An angel
Angels don't forget
To look out for those
To restore the faded
Memories in our heads
Money is a dangerous thing
It turns us all into greed
Why can't we be so friendly like before
Angels restore balance
Nobody told us
That things had changed so much
I was just guessing
About our whole world
Will I make a difference
Not everyone can survive
But we know that for every handful of
Cold hearted people we meet
There's going to be
An angel
Let's go back a little while
Forget the money
Say hello to someone
Save them from being lonely
