What has happened to the sun
It doesn't shine as bright
And what has happened to the wind
It's not as much of a delight
Tell me what is going on
I think I need to know
I've left for just a little while
But now this world's my foe
Everything changed here
As soon as I left
And now that I'm back
All these secrets that I've kept
Are suddenly not worth anything (whispered)
But amongst all this difference
There's one thing that I've seen
The one thing that hasn't changed around here
Is me
The sky seems to be smaller
And the clouds aren't as white
Everything is closer
And people's faces aren't as bright
I turned my back on this small road
For not so very long
And when I come back anxiously
Everything is wrong

At least for one short day
