I'm not sure if it's finished or not, but judging from the comments I have had so far, I guess people like it the way it is, mostly. About birds turning into stone. Not sure why...some sort of metaphorical value to be had here, maybe...yeah...*shrug*

grey birds drop upon the stones,
leaden pebbles with useless flight.
flapping in a sea of slate and shale,
their stony tongues have lost their will to sing
and petrified they come before the night.
