The Last Flight

He spread the wings
He cryed to the moon
dropped the belongings
jumped too soon

air came too fast
fear had died
Dream at his grasp
cheeks had dried

He reached too far
He saw the endless space
Now he'll be the star
they'll know his face

It took so long
It seemed it would never end
The heart was strong
But there was no one to defend

Finally came the burning light
Finally there was home
He needed this last flight
to have peace of his own.
