Apocalyptic Dream

A billion years of sleepless nights,
A billion wanted dreams.
The nightmares come to restless minds,
Dismal reality revealed in horrific dreams.

How can we escape from out apocalyptic dreams?
Can we shed light onto our darkened thoughts?
The nightmares walk among us,
Our fellow beings are our greatest threat.

Flickering flames of burning buildings,
The earthy smell of rot.
Rapid gunfire, massive explosions,
Filthy, blood filled streets.

The line between good and evil grows ever more unclear,
Night begins merging with day.
Dying children their parents bodies,
Their tears staining bloody clothes.

When finally the smoke is gone,
Only death and destruction remain.
A billion years of sleepless nights,
A billion dying dreams.

I know it's not the same poem I posted before...I made a few revisions while I was converting it to HTML format for a second upload. Anyways...I hope you like the changes. Please review. ~Frozen Midnight~

P.S.: I'm sorry this is so dark...I was thinking about war when I originally wrote it and my opinion of war came out a little to clearly. I hope it didn't offend anyone.
