Miranda

A poem from Jason (the character from one of my stories when he is older,)'s POV.

How can one who's lost know love?

How is it not her misery she thinks of?

Her life was ruined, but continues on

Even though her family's gone

Her secrets, her pains, her fall

Protected by a flaming wall

Who could say Miranda didn't try

To stop the fate of those who die

But she continues to save newly lost

Who have paid the same cost

She could hide in her despair

Or pretend she doesn't care

But she does neither of these

Listen to me, please

She remembers with hate

A time when life was great

But looks forward to the new

It's the best thing to do

She doesn't know it, my dear wife

But back in the day, she saved my life
