Gone Away

I don't know where my joy has gone,
But I know it has gone away.
I sit in utter silence,
Awaiting joy's return.

I have waited many days and nights,
Hoping happiness will find me.
All I can hear is silence,
Why won't the laughter reach me?

I'm locked away in a black room,
I have no light to lead me out.
Will I ever escape this dismal night?
Will I ever see the dawn?

All the happiness I once knew well,
Has faded into gloom.
The darkness grows denser,
All hope fades into night.

In life we see both night and day,
They are pieces of a whole.
When sorrow fills the world,
Night becomes starless and the dawn is never seen.

I know this poem is depressing, I was sort of upset when I wrote it but I hope you liked it anyways. Please review. ~Frozen Midnight~
