Overcoming

We sat together and watched the great towers fall.
With our family and friends we watched in awe.
As brothers and sisters we stand hand in hand.
We have stood up and united across this great land.
When you look around red, white, and blue is all you'll see.
As we show our support patriotically.
Among the rubble and debris many did not survive.
But the ones who risked their lives are heroes in our eyes.
How could you think like those buildings we would crumble and fall?
How could think in the end we would not stand tall?
And as the dust settled our soldiers took flight.
Sadly you were mistaken, if you thought we would not fight.
For fight we will to protect our freedom.
And fight we will to protect our great nation.
In the aftermath of destruction a love has awaken, a love so true.
A love for our neighbors and the red, white, and blue.
You hit us full blast with all your hatred.
But a stronger country is what you created.
For this day is no longer sorrowful and sad.
This day is in memory of those, who gave all they had.
