Turns out a new guy was movin' in on Marcone's turf. He wanted me an' Tony to take care him, an' make sure he stayed where he was supposed to. The thug left us a list of places to hit, an' left our place of business. Tony immediately called up some of his friends, an' made plans to take down one of the places on the list the next night.
We met up at a laundry mat the next night. The new guys were usin' it to fence stolen goods. We decided to bust in there, steal some of the goods, and beat the crap outta anyone there. Then we would firebomb the place. There was only four of us that night. Tony an' me of course. And Johnny D, who was a bit odd upstairs, and Rocko, who truth be told, was also bit odd upstairs. Tony had some weird friends.
We all had bats on us, as well as a gun or two for each of us. We weren't expecting too much trouble. We just left the gasoline outside, we would get it when we was through with the guys inside. Tony gave the signal an' we slammed those bats through the windows. Johnny and Rocko leapt through yellin' out a war cry. Tony shook his head in disgust an' followed them more cautiously. I went in after him, and looked around the darkened room. Rocko and Johnny were busy trashin' everythin' in sight, while Tony was lookin' for the fencers. "This place is empty." Tony said "Where are they?" I shrugged my shoulders just as Rocko's head was torn from his body. I stumbled backwards as Johnny D started screamin'. Tony had already drawn his gun an' was lookin' around wildly for what had attacked Rocko.
Suddenly something scampered across in front of me, I slammed my bat down and heard whatever it was scream in annoyance. I struck again an' heard the bat crack an' break. The thing I had struck stood up. It was the shape of a man, but much taller. Without thinkin' I drove my bat straight into it's chest. It let out an unholy wail and suddenly puffed into dust. Tony came over and shined his flashlight onto the pile of ashes. "Damn, those bloody vampires are back." he said.
"Yeah, I'll get the gasoline. We'll torch the places tomorrow in daylight." I replied. I looked around. "Hey, where'd Johnny D go?"
"Ahh, ya know dose new boys, they can't take it. Go get the gasoline, we'll take care of this place now."
For the next week or so, there was an unexplained outbreak of arson around the city. Soon the vampires decided to find a new place to hit. Last I heard they was in Chicago.
As for Johnny D, we never saw him again. Word on the street was that the vamps got him. At any rate, we had plenty to worry about when the werewolves started eatin' our customers, so we just put him from our minds.
