Author's Note: This poem is third in a series. They are meant to be read in order, if possible. This one utilizes a different children's rhyme/song for each of the multi-lined stanzas. Let me know if they are easy to identify.
On the Crumbling Crag of Doubt
A Poetry Series
Number Three:
Here I Go 'Round
Here I go 'round just spinning my tales
Spinning my tales, spinning my tales
Here I go making fantasy worlds
Fantasy worlds, fantasy worlds
Here I go 'round, just wasting my life
Early in their mourning
"You're a burden to your mother!"
Hear, I type as quiet I can
So I do not disturb them
Yet, it's still never enough
And Pop goes my temper
"Go get a job at the mall!"
The clever, gritty writer
Got to earn some clout
Skeptical claims
Tried shaming her in doubt
Then came a check
That shut up all the claims
And the clever, gritty writer
Got to write again
"...I meant that as encouragement..."
