~I can feel when someone means to hurt me

~The added strength, the added anger

~Me trying first to fight back, second to flee…

~For I am no ‘damsel in distress’!

~What!? I ask

~Do I cry for?

~Through jealousy

~Or through loss

~Why do I weep?

~Small tears dot my face

~I don’t bother to wipe away

~They symbolize my sorrow

~All the happiness I cannot borrow

~I have lost my soul to the world

~Waiting for the happiness

~I’ve longed for since always

~But, I will be no ‘damsel in distress’!

~Don’t tease me

~I’ll take it seriously

~Don’t mock me

~I’ll clobber you

~When the bullies come

~What do I do?

~Wait for a knight in shining armor

~But, I am no ‘damsel in distress’!

~I wish for a world where I can escape

~A world where someone cares

~A world where we have a true purpose

~Is this such a world?

~Is this the world I hunger for?

~Or have I been lost?

~If so, I shall get back

~For I am no ‘damsel in distress’!

~I’m waiting for a loved one

~And I’ll wait forever

~If so necessary

~I’ll fight till the end

~I’ll try to stay true

~I’ll desire,

~And wait…

~But, I will be no ‘damsel in distress’!
