Your sadness echoes in me

An ocean of doubt between us

I want to feel your arms around me

Be your comfort, your strength

We are divided, detached

Our first conversation in an age

With every word, I miss you more

Every breath, I wish was with you

A million fitting lyrics flood my mind

You laugh at my sentiments

And when you say goodbye

I feel as though everything is lost

Every kind word evaporates to nothing

Forgotten by tomorrow.
