Play the Game

Ever since the first encounter,
The late color in shifting life,
I've been driven into each wall,
Thrown down each solitary slope,
Wounds expose and heal each bit.

I saw you in the lone corner,
Seemingly faithful; secretive,
But lost in true meaning of life,
Inefficient strength to know truth,
To see into my concrete eyes.

Witnessing truth, you're transparent,
A knee-jerk reactionary,
Taking whatever you're given,
Regurgitating your detests,
Awaiting a lukewarm welcome.

You ought to be so fortunate,
Unlike others, I have your cure,
A blessed light to help you find,
My sincere touch on your spirit,
But unreached by your crude merits.

Until the end, I wish to be,
A haunting spirit in your dreams,
Inviting you to play the game,
One your mind is intimate to,
The same sport you meddled on me.
