Jimmy's Lesson
by Jareth valentine

Death (the much feared Angel of)
Came to Jimmy's house one day.
"Oh, no!" cried little Jimmy. "Help!"
"He's come to take my soul away!
I beg you, Mr. reaper, sir,
Don't do this to me, please!
I'll be good, I truly swear!
I'll always eat my peas!
I'll feed the dog, I'll help my mom!
I'll shower everyday!
I'll even do my homework,
If you only go away!
Why not go take someone else,
like people who are bad?
If you take me, Reaper, Sir,
my Mommy will be sad."
The Reaper only shook his head,
and took poor Jimmy's hand
And hauled him off and dumped him
at the Promised Spirit Land.
Jimmy learned a fact that day
That never fails to scare:
No matter what life means to us,
the ones in charge don't care.
