Little Moth

I once knew of a little moth

Whose color was beauty black

It was the sign of love and loss

Two feelings I had once lacked

I once knew of a little moth

Who fluttered only at night

I laughed and thought it was like me

For we both hated the light

I once knew of a little moth

Who lived in other's memories

And I cried because I knew how it felt

To be incurable of love's remedies

I once knew a little moth

Who had loved and who had lost

But little did I once know

That life can be so easily tossed
