"This is it..." I looked to my left to see my Angelic brother and personal friend, Sage. He was one of the few commanders that commanded with me in times like these. Though sage and I almost agreed on every subject matter there was I found myself second guessing his phrase.
"...No..." I paused feeling a heavy feeling sink my heart while looking out over what stood before me. "This is just the beginning." I clutched my sword with a shaky hand while slowly raising it above my head. I closed my eyes for a moment, reminiscing in all the glorious memories before this. Then I let my eyes open and I let my sword fall, slicing the thick air. "CHARGE!" I heard my Angelic brothers and sister's cry and cheer before we rushed forward in a bloody massacre to save our home, our Lord and our Christ.
I collided with a female Soreth on impact and she wrapped herself around my sternum, striking my ribs with the pressure of her body muscle in an attempt to cut off my air supply before sinking her talons in my flesh. I cut her in half almost instantly and watched her body disintegrate into unholy ashes. Not a second later I felt something cling to my back and I ripped it off, throwing it to the ground and slamming my holy sword into her bare stomach, her high pitched scream pricing my ears. I felt the blade scrape against bones that would be considered abnormally placed if the body structure had been human. I peered down into the glazed yellow eyes that flickered with dyeing life and I became perplexed as I watched those eyes beg me to end her sinful life. I did as she silently requested to me. I tightened the grip on the hilt of my sword and twisted it around inside her stomach, splitting open her intestines and ripping the course skin that covered her bare body. I cringed as her black blood shot towards my face and speckled my facial features before I slid my blade out of her corpse. I looked out of the corner of my eye to see Azacachia working his illusions upon the unholy beasts but something in the distance made my heart wrench. Arial, the Angelic beauty that led human souls to heaven or hell and Azacachia's only love was being slaughtered. I watched the talons of these beastly creatures ram into her skin and even from the distance that stood between us I could still see her veins running black with the poison. Her body began to jerk uncontrollably and her skin boil from the internal acid that the venom possessed. The black death spread upward to her face and injected into her eyes that instantly proceeded to sizzle and pop while she screamed in utter agony letting her slow and dramatized death was play out to the last drop. Once she was down the Soreth wasted no time ripping open her neck and drinking her sweet blood like a band of starved and crazed vampires. But the one thing that killed me was that Azacachia had no idea that the love of his life was being devoured.
"MICHALE!" I heard someone bellow my name and I jerked my head to the front to see a Soreth flying toward me. I positioned my sword at the last moment, only to have a familiar face rescue my distracted ass. "Bloody 'ell Michael! Get your head in the game will yeah!?" I looked up to see my Angelic Scottish Brother and all around friend, Seth who had just disembogued my oncoming manslaughter. He flexed his wings and took off to the skies only to dive bomb strait into a pit of black bodies and raging talons. Of course through his idiotic yet somehow highly effective move I could hear Gabriel yelling at him from about a mile away.
"Miiiiiiichaalle..." I heard the hissing of my name and I turned around baring my sword only to have a bone crushing grip latch around my throat. "Yooou...You did this to me! You and your Lord!" I grabbed his wrist and twisted it, the popping and crunching sound assuring me that I had effectively broken his wrist causing me to fall from his grip. I held my sword tip to his throat and stared him down.
"The only one who led you down this path of unrighteousness was yourself." I stared into the Persian blue eyes that looked at me searching for revenge and pity. Then I felt it...that connection that only angelic brothers and sister share. "Brother Ezekiel!?" This shocked me into immobilized fear. I knew much about the Soreth but I didn't know it was possible to become one of them if you were not born from the actual species.
"You don't deserve to call me brother!" He lunged at me and I was caught off guard but quick to block his thirsty talons. He grinned at me, flashing his pearly saber tooth fangs. "Come with Michael...break your holy bonds." I glared, knowing very well I was being hesitant and second guessing me taking his traitorous life.
"Never..." I spun my sword in my hands and sliced him through the middle, his ashes flowing over my body and sticking to my hair. After I slayed Ezekiel I was pummeled and I felt fangs dig and rip into my neck sending blood gushing like a fountain from my artery. I cried in agony and threw the beast from my shoulder only to discover she was excessively acrobatic. She spun herself in the air, rotating her body around in a complete 360 and landed softly in a crouching position in front of me.
"Death to God..." Was the only thing she spoke to me before she lunged at me again. Though I found help from the skies for a single bolt of lightening slammed into her body, rendering her helpless against the over charge her body was enduring before she exploded from the energy. Her body parts spread through the air and showered me in a sickening storm of blood and intestine. I glanced up to look at who had assisted only to see the one and only Polaris, the stress of Sage's life.
"Polaris! I told you stay out of this fight!" Sage yelled up to her ascended form.
"Do I ever listen to you? No!" Was her only and typical response she gave him. She soared through the skies doing what she did best, aiding who needed to be assisted with her jagged streams of electricity. But and eerie feeling caressed over my skin and made my back bone shiver as I heard everything fall deathly silent. I turned at all angels to look at the stiff Soreth who made no notion of movement. Then all of a sudden their piercing screams filled all of heaven and every Angel covered their ears in attempt to keep their hearing while watching the thousands of our arch nemesis's sink below the clouds.
All of heaven stood at a stand still, all of us confused and edgy. But our questions and suspicion were quickly answers as Satan himself ascended onto our heavenly ground.
"Hope I'm not to late for the party." He was smug, as usual.
"Satan!" I barked out the obvious.
"Michael...so happy to see you again. I think you'll be anxious to see what I have for you..." I watched him open his mouth and raised an eyebrow as I saw small streams of silver snake from his mouth. I blinked in awkward confusion before the small threads materialize themselves into something I would never forget. It was me...a replica of me, only...demonic. His black dragon wings were the same wing span of my own angelic and his sword glowed with the green and black fire of hell. "I thought I would give him a little test run. I figured you would enjoy knowing what its like fighting yourself. Oh...and don't think that you'll have your quaint little army to back you up with this one Archangel Seraphim Michael." I turned to see that the army of Soreth had reappeared and was successful at keeping my own comrades busy. "This is just between you...and yourself..." I glared, readying myself for his attack. We both went at it at the same time, our swords colliding into another. I made an attack he would block successfully and vise versa. I slashed him across the face and he cut me across my bare abdomen making me hunch over and in my act of defenselessness, he kicked me down and I felt a row of my ribs go. I fell to the ground my sword skidding from my hands. I laid on my back wondering exactly what had just happened then saw him standing over me, his hellish shadow falling upon me. His sword was the last thing I saw...
