Insomnia
Night is flowing in my veins.
My pulse beats 1.2.3.
And the moon; she pressures me from all directions.
Yet my eyelids are unscathed,
And my conscience mind remains immune.
Haunting crickets echo in my brain.
So eternal.
Oh, strike me fast with your moonbeams!
Make me weak, make me drowsy.
A longing for a weight that pulls my eyelids shut.
Sandman, Sandman, you're so quick to forget me?
Kindly tip toe 'crossed my eyes so gentle-like,
And grant me, child, the priceless gift of slumber.
