My ‘Reach For The Sky’ Diary

7th August 2003

Well I’m home now, after two of the best days I’ve had the luck to have in the past two years...

We spent the whole day organising an event that all the groups did together [kinda] and it was pretty cool. Except for the weird sport that was a mix of football and netball and was rather boring - but that might just be because I hate most sport in general.

Maxay opened her big mouth yesterday while we were doing the radio thing and told a couple of the Guides about my poem being published so, naturally, they wanted to see it. I’ll have to remember to get her back for that, one day. Although I did eventually give in and gave a copy to Vic. So what did she do? She got one of the entertainment hotties to turn it into a song for me - which I‘m still waiting for my copy of!

I was sitting against the wall with Caoibhe when the girl sang it at our ‘event’ and one of the guides literally pulled me to my feet and dragged me to the edge of the performing area. As soon as Rosemary had finished the song, the guy who was apparently running the whole thing shoved me into the middle of the floor - just so they all knew it was me who wrote the song! I swear I have never been more embarrassed in my life. And I’m willing to bet the colour of my face was redder than a tomato!

One thing’s for sure, I am definitely glad my dear friend Llannadh reminded me that this was going on, otherwise I’d have missed a great two days with friends and no family to irritate me!

See Llannadh? I didn’t bitch about you my dear - How could I do that to my best friend in the whole wide world? Just a pity I haven’t seen more of you in the holidays! Love you babes! xxx

Oh and a note for Maxay - quit turning everything into a competition. It doesn’t matter what it is but to you it’s a competition. From our goddamn life stories to getting a guy’s phone number! Just stop it now, ‘cause, quite frankly, I’m not the only one who’s sick of it. Sorry for mentioning this online but it’s the only way I can get a word in most of the time! Despite that - You’re a great friend ;o]xxx

I’d also like to congratulate all my friends for passing their exams!

Love Y’all! xxx
