He loved her and placed her in a new garden
His heart was pure and his intentions just
She cared for him, yet not as intense as he
Her heart wasn’t set aflame at his presence
Part of the man’s heart told of her true feelings
Though he didn’t listen and ignored its warning
Such a feeling was what he craved and needed
It was worth more than gold no matter what the cost
Obsession soon replaced a faded dying love
However he first fought to keep it alive a bit longer
Purity and just intentions dissipated into thin air
And all the while, the garden was in bloom
A place once full of so much potential had grown
Grown and bloomed into the flower called “Lie”
Such a thorny, deceptive flower that hurt her
Now she can only watch his vacant glances
Once love-filled eyes now shone only dull grays
Hopes and dreams turned into a harsh, bitter reality
“Lies” filled the garden to the brim with their thorns
Emotional blood was drawn and left to simply spill
