We stood outside,
Beneath the black,
Star spotted sky.
We had been through rough times,
And I was scared.
So much could go wrong,
You could leave,
Then where would I be?
But I gave myself to you,
In those three magical words,
"I love you."
You looked deep into my eyes,
Held my gaze,
Brought me close.
Through shimmering eyes,
You smiled.
"I love you, too."
You forehead lightly rest on my shoulder,
When your beautiful voice lifted my heart once again.
"I love you."
I smiled,
And you looked up at me,
Happiness pouring out of your eyes,
And you said it once more.
"I love you."
My eyes glistened as I smiled,
And saw you smiling back, too.
To hear you say those lovely words,
With a voice that rang forever true.
"I love you."
Your voice,
Those words,
Took a hold of my heart,
And you wrapped your arms around me,
Unspoken,
Yet promising,
Never to let go.
"I love you."
