The Blood Moon

The princess awakens during midnight's rest,
With a dire aura throughout the sky,
Dreadful steps follow to her balcony,
She stares past the city's horizon...

The moon has risen from the Far East,
Encased in a dark vermilion coat,
Shaded with blood from the misty air,
Its red much too troubled for love to be...

Quite a salient subject in the sky,
Refusing to put her fair eyes to rest,
Fulfilling a devious sense of fright,
In a scarlet night that was never meant...

Crusading to keep her world as sound,
The warriors continue to bleed for her,
Only the beginning state of struggle,
And the long absence of a tranquil time...

Thoughts creating a vortex in her head,
She lays her dull hands on her throbbing chest,
Her tears flowing while watching a moon,
Conquer the sky before her weary eyes...

No long slumber can contain her dread,
A scout with reverence, she proceeds to watch,
A terrestrial war underway tonight,
Under the sour crimson of a blood moon...
