Each Life Counts

It's hard to write a summary, but it's basically about the war and the effect it has on people. I dislike the way that everyone mourns over the loss of our soldiers, but tend to overlook all the innocent Iraqi people who's lives were taken.

Each Life Counts

How many tears must they cry?
How many innocents need to die?
How many bodies will hit the ground?
How much blood will be shed around?

Each life counts, or so you say,
So why did it have to be this way?

All this, in the name of love and peace,
You don't care how many are deceased,
The children who don't yet understand,
Their parents are dead- who will hold their hands?

Each life counts, or so you say,
So why did it have to be this way?

Proud of your soldiers, those killing machines,
Will their hands ever be clean?
Can they just wipe the blood away,
And carry on another day?

Each life counts, or so you say,
So why did it have to be this way?

For every smile, ten more are dead,
But you don't care- your family's fed,
They don't have to beg to live,
Because of the second-rate help you give.

Each life counts, or so you say,
So why did it have to be this way?
