Dead skies and Tired Trees -Offbeat Oddity
The river blows,
The wind flows,
And there's nobody left but me.
The tired black sky rests under
The bustling dead tree,
And there's nobody left but me.
My world's upside down and my life's inside out,
Since you left me in this lit and crowded space.
My life is so busy now.
I try to stay occupied,
I try to keep it all inside.
But as I walk I cry.
The children are working.
The adults are playing;
And there's nobody left but me
Schools are empty;
Teachers are teaching
And there's nobody left but me.
My world's upside down and my life's inside out,
Since you left me in this lit and crowded space.
My life is so dreary now.
I try to be busy,
So hard to keep busy.
But there's nothing left to do.
Sunday churches are burning.
I'm outside praying
And there's nobody left but me.
Devil's gates are golden,
And I'm burning churches,
And there's nobody left but me.
My world's upside down and my life's inside out,
Since you left me in this lit and crowded space.
My life is nothing now.
I have nothing to do,
Sitting alone...
And my mind wanders back to you.
My mind is empty,
Filled with you,
And there's nobody left but me.
My attempts to keep busy
Has left me with nothing to do.
Now nothing else matter but you.
My world's upside down and my life's inside out,
Since you left me in this lit and crowded space....
