“Tommorow’s Song”

We are the singers of Tommorow’s Song,
her chosen champions,
beaten down before our forte is achieved,
before our final verse is sung,
our closing chord complete
and last bar rhymed.
No matter how strong our voices may raise,
in triumph, defeat or pain,
our flaws are found,
we’re forced to falter
before others can hear,
our promises of a better life.
