NOTE/PLEASE READ: The title of this poem comes from an old adage. The general meaning of this saying is that, even though opposites attract, two people can be so different that they're driven apart. April and September are two very different months...

APRIL CAN'T MARRY SEPTEMBER

I love you more then I can say
But somehow you are fading
Dark of night turns into day
To end our maquerading
I cause you pain and mean you none
It tears me up inside
The moon will sob for the burning sun
As much as I have cried
Your days are spent in freezing cold
My nights in burning hell
Our grand facade will soon unfold
With fears I cannot quell
Fate is cruel and love can kill
And I will take the fall
Our mercy's at the angel's will
As we stand outside this wall
The fire in your lonely eyes
Is now a haunted ember
I fear the truth behind the lies
We're April and September
