Honestly Amanda
9-2-03

Amanda says she's all alone
She hates it here and she wants to go home
Nothing's working like she wants it to
She asks me, "Please come talk to me,"
But I gotta go and do my laundry
I say, "Honestly, Amanda, it's OK."

I tell her take a breath
It isn't life or death but
She thinks so
I tell her have some fun
It's same for everyone and
I gotta go away

Amanda says her friends are gone
She feels like she's the only one
No one's here to help her through her pain
She tells me nothing's going right
She had a bad day and an awful night
I tell her, "Honestly, Amanda, it's OK."

I say, "You'll work it out."
"No point in crying about it,"
"Nothing will change."
I tell her, "It's just life."
I tell her she'll be fine, just
Give it a day

"Why don't you take a rest," I said
"It's getting late, just go to bed."
She tells me that she can't sleep at all
I tell her she'll get used to it
One day she'll find it doesn't hurt a bit
"Honestly, Amanda, it's OK."
