Demons Fall for Angels

First written by Demon Writer, rewritten by Okami Cloud

Ahem. This might be a bit confusing. As most of you know if you have read some of my other stories, I mainly do elf vs. demon and not demon vs. angel. This is written by my friend and I thought it was cute so I decided to rewrite it with less fluff. It's a work in progress and until I get all the information about the characters, this might suck. *dies* Whatever. I've been in my "vampire" mode so I might be a bit out of it. This is very unlike my writing as you will see-

Kinoko: Hurry up, onna! They don't want to read all this! Get on with it!

…Pairing as always…Akito/Okami, but it won't come until later and Okami is not a happy angel, and he voices that by being a bit of a bastard in this. *holds up flag and waves it around* I'm so proud. R/R please.

Love is like destiny,

It cannot be stopped.

Akito Akiyama spread his demon wings and flew over to the Golden Gates. His messy, jet-black hair blew back from his deep green cat eyes as he slowly came up to a tree by the gates. Akito hovered in the air for a second, then sat down on a branch of the tree, hidden from sight by the lush foliage of the heavenly tree. He had started to fade into a dreamless sleep when he heard an angel's laughter. Akito quickly opened his eyes to see a younger boy with dirty blond hair and deep blue eyes, 'I don’t know if I can…' he thought, putting his face in his hands.

~Flashback to the underworld~

"Sire, you summoned me?" asked Akito, kneeling before his lord and master, Ran.

"Yes, I did." he replied, running his hand through Akito's hair. The demon's eyes flashed, but Akito said nothing, "I would like you to do a favor for me." Ran fingered the cross earring in Akito's left ear, slightly burning his pale fingers on it.

"What would that be, Lord Ran?" asked Akito, remembering what he had done to others he had asked this question to.

"I need you to kill an angel for me, his name is Cloud Okami."

"Nani!? I thought you could not kill an angel! How am I supposed to do that?"

"Well, I can't, but you can in a sense. See, if you 'claim' him, he will be kicked out of heaven. Then you will be able to take his life. Will you do this for me?"

"Whatever you ask, sire. Your wish is my command."

~End Flashback~

"You can do whatever you want to do. I'll take over guard of the Gates to Heaven." said Okami Cloud, smiling as he brushed back his long bangs. The other angel nodded to him, and walked away. The young angel stretched, and leaned against the stonewall near the Golden Gates, 'I don't see why we have to watch over the gates…it's not like anyone comes here.'

Akito stood up, balling his hands into fists, 'I must do this. It was an order from my master.' He quickly flew down to where Okami stood, "Hi, angel." the youth spun around, and before he knew what had happened, Akito pinned him against the wall.

"Who are you!?" yelled Okami, leaning back against the wall as far as he could, trying to keep away from the demon. He glared up at Akito, his normally sparkling blue eyes cold as steel. Akito gazed into Okami's eyes for a second before slamming his fist into the wall, closing his eyes tightly.

"I can't!" he yelled, turning away from Okami, "I won't! How could he expect me to do this!? Dammit!"

"What are you saying?" he blinked, "What are you even doing here? This is Heaven, get out now! If someone sees you here with me…" Okami shook his head, and drew his sword, "I shall not allow you to enter the Golden Gates, demon. On my watch, none but the pure shall pass." Akito did not seem to have heard him, turning to gaze into Okami's cold eyes once more, "Back down demon, or draw your weapon."

"Look at you," he murmured, eyes softening, "How could I even have thought of hurting you, never the less kill you?" Okami's eyes narrowed.

"You must be out of your mind, demon." spat Okami, "You cannot kill me." Akito took a step forward, and Okami stood his ground until the demon laid a hand on Okami's cheeks, "Don't touch me!" he swatted Akito's hand away, and took a step back, raising his sword higher.

"If I claim you for my own, you shall be kicked out of Heaven. They will turn you into a mortal being, and then you will be able to be killed." the demon spread his black-feathered wings to fly off.

"You're not so bad." said a voice behind him. Turning, Akito spotted two girls standing in the tree with her arms folded neatly across their chests.

"Umi Angel, Dreamer Amai…" frowned Akito, looking from the girls.

"Bastard, I'm not going to let you get away. You have gotten too close to the Golden Gates. My reputation is at stake. Fight me now!" Akito locked eyes with Okami as he said this, shivering at the coldness in his eyes, "Did you not hear me!? Fight me now!" the demon flew off before he could do anything, "Dammit." Okami's white-feathered wings appeared and he flapped them once to rise into the air.

"Cloud, you mustn't-" started Amai as Okami started after Akito.

"Lay off, Dreamer. I do not want you telling me how to do my job. When you get to become one of Heaven's guards and a demon nearly gets you on your watch, then we'll talk." he turned to glare at Angel and Amai for a second before adding, "I am the only one who can kill you without having to turn you into a mortal. You would be wise to remember that."

"Is that a threat, Cloud?" asked Angel, smiling.

"More of a warning." he took off.
