How can you laugh

When inside you’re crying?

How can you know

When I know you’re lying?

Why don’t you care

That I care for you?

Why do you shut yourself off

And not let me through?

I know you too well

But you don’t know me

I know your pain

But why can’t you see?

I love you now

I loved you then

I know you’ll soon realize

But I don’t know when

You need me

I know you do

But you make this hard

I don’t want to see you through

But I’m too devoted

My love is too steep

I’m trying to save you

But your pain is too deep…
