Ah, the third, semi-conclusion of this story. I hadn’t really planned on it, but I figured the last chapter just kinda ended abruptly soooooooooooooooo—here ya go! And ignore the fact that Mitarie talks drunk in the first paragraph and then suddenly sobers up -_-;; she does that a bit…(not really). Okay, I lie (like a snake), just read okay?!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Part 3
Clumps clumped to the side of the glass. Small bits of… something, drifted through the murky brown-ness. Nick tapped the side of the glass idly.
"Mmmm. L’ks yummy." Mitarie slurred. She poured herself some more wine. "What isit?"
Nick rolled his pants’ leg up past his knee, and, casting the glass one last glance, he poured in onto his bloody knee and smeared the brown messiness around.
"A mixture of drinks put together to form a substance that prevents infection."
Even in Mitarie’s alcohol induced haziness, she had half a mind to worry about drinks that could do that. She cast a dubious glance at her glass and quietly set it down.
"Do you think Iries will be okay?"
"Of course." Nick said not even looking up. "If anything, it’s her pride that’s been damaged."
"Oh." Mitarie said. "Should we maybe check on her…?" Nick shrugged, "The worse than can happen is she blows you up."
"That’s not very comforting."
Mitarie went up to Iries’ room anyway, knocking crisply on the door. "Iri~ies!" She sang out, swallowing the bit of nervousness she felt. No answer. She pounded harder. "Iries-!" The door opened and Mitarie fell face first onto the floor at Iries feet.
"…" Iries said, raising an eyebrow.
"You could’ve just made a little noise you know…" Mitarie whined as pulled herself up. "And miss a show like that?" Iries said dryly, "Whatever for?" In typical Iries fashion, she didn’t even ask if the blue haired girl was alright, just walked past her into the hall and down the stairs. Mitarie pouted some more.
Their plan hadn’t worked. The mission had been fairly simple; there’d been a rumor going around that the mansion’s family collected magical artifacts, one of which was said to have rare and powerful healing powers. Iries should have smelled a rat as soon as she heard it, but she wasn’t anxious to take a chance that the rumor was true. She was willing to take any chances if….
Their plan had been to get Nick and Mitarie in. They were to do this by acting as though Mitarie was unconscious and close to death. Hopefully they would be let in and healed by said artifact, proving its existence. Iries would then sneak in with the aid of illusionist magic and steal the item. The guards were the type who were only there for show on the outside; no one really thought someone would actually try to break in.
It seemed like a fine plan, except for Mitarie’s problem. She hadn’t been told about the plan and for some reason she didn’t like the part where she was bludgeoned to the near-point of death.
"For the love of Glacies Mitarie! We won’t…they’ll HEAL you before anything bad happens!"
"And what if that rumor is JUST A RUMOR?!" The woman had shrieked. Nick then pounced on her, covering her mouth. "Be quiet!" he hissed.
"Don’t upset me girl." Iries had growled. A whisper, "She’s running out of places to hide the bodies."
"Shut up Nicholas!"
In the end, Iries had grudgingly agreed to just make and illusion of a hurt Mitarie. Letting them know just how hard it was to hold up a moving illusion away from oneself, Iries had cast and maintained it while hiding in a tree.
Nick had done his part well; Mitarie in his arms he’d run, yelling hysterically to the guards about his friend being attacked by bandits. Iries illusion worked, and the two were escorted into the mansion.
Iries had waited impatiently, or as much as she could while still keeping a hold on the illusion.
She’d been concentrating so hard on the connection that when it had abruptly broke, Iries, shocked and surprised, had fallen out of the tree.
She’d lain on the ground dazed and confused and trying to convince herself that ‘no, the sky is not pink and no, the clouds are not purple’ until a commotion at the entrance had made her look up.
"Goooooooo!" Nick’s voice had traveled to her. "We’ve been caught!" Mitarie pointed out the obvious.
"Dammit!" Iries had gotten shakily to her feet and started to run. Nick and Mitarie caught up and all three dodged through a forest. Iries jumped as a fireball landed a foot behind her, "What the hell did you DO!?" Nick told her.
"You frickin’ LAUGHED!?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~End

Hah hah hah, erm, yeah, I’m not too happy with the ending. I may make another, more ending… ending, but don’t believe me, because I lie. And in case you don’t get the last line, the healer person or other usually checks to see exactly what’s wrong right? You know, lifting, taking off, poking and prodding…They forgot the take into mind that Mitarie is very ticklish ^^;;; Whoops. ^__^
