THE WOLF
In the dark of the night
A golden gleam
Eyes of light
Two shining beams
A shaft of moonlight
Strikes the wolf
Visible now in the dark of the night
His fur is dark and thick
His nose is black and wet
His ears tilt forward
His lips pull back
A low growl escapes him
His shackles rise
He knows you are watching
His bright golden eyes
His teeth sharp and silver
A tongue red as blood
A growl like a fever
He crouches in the mud
And watches his watcher
Your hours are numbered
The hunter is hunted
His nature overcomes
In the dark of the night
A golden gleam
Eyes of light
Two shining beams
HIS MATE
The moon catches her fur
White as the snow
That covers the ground
Her eyes are dark
But in the light they turn gold
Her smile is playful
As wolf smiles go
Her teeth just as sharp
Her tongue just as red
She rolls on the ground
And barks like a pup
The moon on her back
She howls to the night
To the moon and her lover
Prowling through the snow
That covers the earth
