Whoever said that life was simple? They must have never felt pain or had
difficulties with anything. Heck, they may have just been plain rich and
had no worries. God, do I wish my life might have turned out like that, but
then I think that I would hate being sheltered all the time. Being in a
middle class home isn't all that terrible.
You're probably wondering who I am, aren't you? Well I was born as
Jolene Lane Knight and four years later my younger sister, Melina, was
born. My mother, having a middle class job, is a first grade teacher at the
local elementary school. And my father, the man I'm supposed to call dad,
is known as Randall and no, I have no clue to where his whereabouts are.
Nell Jabolskey is my best friend and I've known her since I was in
the fourth grade. It wasn't until I was in the seventh I realized she was a
prep. You know, preps are what they call the "pretty people". The girls
with the perfect hair, perfect complexion, fifteen pairs of shoes, purses
and Abercrombie and Finch clothing. Yep, she's one of them and I'm not.
Don't think I'm not proud of it because I am. Want to know why? Well,
because most preps are complete airheads with nothing better to do than
chase after guys. Yes, I said it. If there's one thing you should know
about me, it's that I'm honest.
As I pondered before, who was the one person that went off and said
that their life was simple? How could anyone make a comment like that? I
think it was the same person that said that love at first sight and true
love was a possible matter. What kind of person doesn't believe in true
love and love at first sight you ask? Well, let me tell you, I don't. I
find it to be a total waste of my time wondering what kind of guy I want in
my life. I'm a senior at Reese Scott High School and feel I have more
important things to think about, such as my future.
