Adventures Begin

Everyone always wants to live a normal life. Well. almost everyone. Sara Ford tries to, but she often wishes her wild imagination could take it over. "Stop daydreaming", "All this fiction reading is going to turn you into a second Don Qioute", "Concentrate on your school work and not your Fantasy Games". Everyone seemed to discourage her growing imagination.
'If only I was born in a time or place where adventures were what you lived for and the ancient arts still exist. Where proofs and proper grammar aren't important and pride and power are your most prized possessions.' Sara would think at night as she looked out of her window at the stars.
Tonight, a shooting star streaked by.
'A shooting star! Now I can make my wish.' She thought as she closed her eyes and concentrated on her wish.
"There, finished." She said aloud as she pet her cat on the head and slid into bed. "Goodnight Ace." She murmured and fell asleep. - The next morning she awoke to the strangest adventure you'd ever imagine-

She woke just like every other day. She hit her alarm for the 5th time and crawled out of bed. Ace looked up from the end of her bed, blinked sleepily, yawned, and stretched. She then jumped down and sat at the closed bedroom door. Sara got dressed and began brushing her brown hair that reached to the middle of her back and grumbles about the static it always has.
Absentmindedly, she opens her door for Ace as she looks for a hair tie. She turned to look at Ace as the cat lets out a confused sound.
"What's the matter Ace?" she asks as Ace looks up and meows at her. Sara walked over to where the cat was standing and looked out the door.
She wasn't greeted by her usually hallway, but a Forest! She slams the door, blinks twice, and opens it again.
Still forest. Ace bobs her head, sniffing the air, and then steps out into the new world before her.
"Ace!?!" Sara cries, as she is now looking at a full grown cheetah, instead of her cat. It turned and gave her a cat smile. "It is you, isn't it Ace." Sara said as she looked her over. She was a cheetah, but a black one with silver, star shaped spots, and a crescent moon shaped spot on her forehead. She sat and began purring.
"I guess there's no turning back now." Sara said as she started to enter, but then doubled back. She went to her jewelry box and removed a very cluttered charm bracelet. On it were lockets containing pictures of each of her family members and friends. Her most prized possession. She slid it into her pocket and then walked over to and out of the door.
Stepping into this world was like stepping into a whole new plane of existence. The doorway behind her faded away, 'No way back' she thought and then looked down onto her new attire.
She was wearing a long, white tailcoat duster robe the fit perfectly to her with elbow length sleeves. It's high, folded over collar, flared sleeve, and tail tips were decorated with an orange stripe next to a blue stripe. She had on a pair of black shorts that looked like leather, but breathe like cotton, that came down to the middle of her thighs. On her hands were leather, open fingered gloves that came up to the first knuckle of her fingers. On her feet were a pair of fur lined, leather boots the came up to below her knees. Her hair seemed longer and thinner now that it was pulled back into a long braid.
'Cool' she thought as she scuffed her toes on the ground to test the reliability of her new boots. She twirled around once and was surprised to feel something heavy bump against her chest. She looked down to see a rather large, silver pendent.
It was circular in shape with a large whole in the center like a thin doughnut. The outer ring had many small spaces for gems, each in the shape of the zodiac symbols. In the center was a wondrous diamond shaped diamond with a perfectly spherical red flaw in the center.
She wasn't sure how long she was inspecting the pendent before Ace nudged her hip. She patted her on the head and said, "Ace, looks like I'm going to get my adventure after all. Ready to go?"
Ace gave her another cat smile and they set off through the forest.
