lost amid the aimless throngs
pulsing past as I
cannot sing
words
and the blur of time and grace
erases what I
once knew for
facts
leaving a small child stranded
still standing alone
in a crowd
smile
through the tears and the burns, child
hold my hand and let
the fears melt
away…
stand in the rain and
taste the subtle sweet of love
washing down your face
blends in with your tears
rinsing off the sullied fate
and leaving you clean…
