He looked through the small dying fire at her sleeping form. Today had been so rough. Just after dawn had broken, he had begun to train her vigorously. Today's lessons specified on physical fighting. He never knew how strong this girl actually wa until today. He wore her out with his exercize plans and his "special technique-teaching method". Basically he would show her several moves then force her to apply them in a fight between him and her. He went easy on her at first. and that's when he eralized she was kicking his butt at this. After a couple matches inwhich she was winning, he decided to kick it into gear.

Both came out with tons of bruises and cuts by the end of the day. So after a dinner of several gathered fruits and vegetables (since they were plentiful here) she pretty much crashed. He'd stayed up to watch the red sun sink below the horizon.

That was two hours ago. He had come back to camp and he contented himself with watching her sleep.

She was so adorable and innocent like a child when she slept. It was like taking care of one as well. She was so immature and naive, it was funny. He loved to tease her and make her mad.

He grinned, 'and her face looks so cute when she pouts.' his grin faded into a small smile full of content. He blushed slightly as she mumbled his name brifly in her sleep.

A long while ago, he had secretly confirmed that he had affection for her. But he swored he'd never tell until the time was right.

He went over his list of requirements for the perfect moment:

A: romantic atmosphere - like a royal ball or a time like this (just the two of them)

B: she had to be "in the mood" or in this case when she matures and grows just a bit (also, she would have to be awake)

C: he also needed to give her something - like candy (which is pretty hard to find in the kingdom unless you have the right connections) or flowers.

He knew those appearing at the same time woldn't come for a -long- time, considering they were still travelling and now towns were nearby.

He sat for a few more minutes enjoying the fire and her company, until he decided to hit the hay himself. He moved off the stone he had been sitting on and curled up to the smoldering embers - what was left of the fire.

He looked up to the sky to watched the stars, only to face clouds. He sighed, 'well, not all things are perfect...' He looked over to her, the moon light-that peeked through the clouds-danced through the trees and on her curves. He smiled as sleepiness took him rather quickly. "Except her." were his words before darkness shrouded his vision and he fell asleep to the warm melody of her song playing in his head.
