“If you would marry suitably, marry your equal.”

~~Ovid

~~*~~

The Goddesses created him for me,

a man to be my perfect match, to rescue

me from the grips of a vengeful Mother,

or a jealous madman, or a spiteful

ex-whore, or whoever it was that was after

me in this life or that one.  He is the lord

to my lady, my saviour and protector

as surely as I am his soul’s salvation

and his heart’s dearest comfort.  We are

ever in compliment to each other, two

Chaotics in a world of sanity, two fighter-lovers

in a world that does not understand the

strength of a such a sentiment, which cannot

comprehend a bond so ultimate and eternal.

[Moral of the story:  You shouldn’t be too quick to jump to conclusions about symbolism.]
