Dry Rain

It was a dry summer in the land of the sioux tribe. It was hot, and people and animals were starting to die. It hadn't been done for hundreds of years, but it was time for drastic measures. It was time to signal the rain gods. The chief approved and started the ceremony of the rain dance.

They started to dance, moving beautifully, as if the gods themselves were leading them. Then they all started to hallucinate, seeing eachother as figures of man, bird, and horse, put togather as one. What they saw was unethical, but they all saw the same. With that, they knew that the gods were calling back.

Then they started to smell water, hear thunder. They could almost taste the precios water wetting thier they felt the water hit them, and they fell.

That night they died in thier sleep, in that still dry dessert land, remembering the rain.

I guess that drought was too much for thier bodies, and thier minds.

THE END
