"Business Suit"
I saw you today
Though you did not see me there
I saw you today
Walking through the overcrowded pigeon pens
Of the city
You held your head high
And side-stepped the young poets
And artists wasting their life away
You shot them a disapproving glare
That could have frozen the symmetrical pinstripes
Right off your business suit
And sent them flying away like floating flower petals
To another time and universe entirely
A time where we sat
In our freezing one-bedroom apartment
And discussed Kafka over
Volcanic proportions of hot chocolate
Flowing from the cup like lava
I saw you today
Walking with a purposeful air through
The over crowded pigeon pens
And though you did not see me there
I could have sworn I saw a bit of longing
In your withering, abject glare.

Yes, I am FINALLY posting again; I've been gone too long. There's
something inspiring about Algebra class that makes me want to write poetry
and NOT pay attention. Heh heh.
I also updated my bio, people were starting to wonder whether I would be in
8th grade forever.
