I'm here

When you are trapped

In a desert storm

As the sand stings your eyes

And the pain makes you blind

I'm here and I'm watching.

When the air

Grows ice cold

And your body goes numb

And chill fills your lungs

I'm here and I'm seeing.

When you're burned

By Hell's fire

The heat making you scream

And flames making you bleed

I'm here and I'm hearing.

When you're sinking below

The surface receeding

Feeling light-headed

Death laughing, advancing

I'm here and I'm feeling.

And when you make your way home

Leaving it behind

I can watch you go, satisfied

I'm here, and I'm helping.

Author's Notes: I adore constructive criticism, and take it to heart, but pointless flames are used to light my proverbial cigarettes. I know that my feeble writing is a plague to the world of poetry; thank you very much. I hope that you enjoyed. If not, I apologize for wasting half a minute of your life.

Love and angst,

Vivica
