False Dawn

Crucified sensation comes upon me
Ripping the heart out with a torn hand
Let the blood sprinkle like pedals of a rose
Blanket my life with another taint

I've seen life in such entirety
The trees that die during summer nights
The angels that cry with despair
The sorrows leak onto the souls...

A breath of life betrays...
Like a brush with death...

Hate has untangled to kill the hope
The very substance that drives us all
The solution only kills in the end
Steering my soul towards endless pain

Just trying to reach my hand...
It was so close to yours...

The betrayal that passion threw me
Giving me all the untrue secrets
Handing the keys to all the wrong doors
Letting the demons consume me whole

I think of desires in beautiful dreams
Still scared of the inevitable anguish
Perhaps the dreams will someday come true
But maybe hope is just getting the best of me

A breath of life betrayed...
Like a brush with death...
Walked down the beaten path...
Where all desires lay scorned...

Just tried to reach my hand...
It was so close to yours...
The dawn that rose upon me...
Was only dream's awakening...

So very close...

(AUTHOR'S NOTE: I know it's not like any other poems I write. I was hoping
for a change of pace in this one particularly. I tried to put emphasis on
the two-liners, because they explain the poem the best. Give me your
thoughts on this.)
